Thank you for welcoming me to Bundang House. I look forward to meeting everyone over the upcoming months. In the meantime, if you see me during the morning when you are dropping your child to school, please wave or say hello.
As a form of background, I received my bachelor’s degree in Teaching at Charles Sturt University in Australia, whilst also acquiring a Social Science degree in Psychology. These two degrees provided me with great insight into child development, learning processes, language acquisition and behaviour management. I then spent many years teaching in private schools in Australia, from Kindergarten to Year 6. It was here that I developed a growing interest in early literacy, and began working in Early Years settings with a focus on 3 to 6 year olds, and completed my Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
I have worked in various International Schools in a leadership position, always focusing on improving Early Years settings and childrens’ literacy in the English language. For the past 2 years I have been working as the Principal at British Lodge, as well as providing curriculum guidance and support at both Dongtan House and Bundang House. Notably, I am very excited to be working at Bundang at a more indepth role and level, and improving upon Mia’s successes.
This month at Bundang House we will have our PTCs next week, and will send out the Interim Student Reports on July 24. Please note the reports will look slightly different this year, as the format has been changed. More information will be provided in the upcoming week about the changes.
In addition to this, the staff are working on some fun and exciting activities to share with the children, during our week before summer break. More information of course, will be forwarded to you closer to the date.
